Victor J. "Trader Vic" Bergeron included in his life more excitement, enjoyment and exoticism than any other man. His hot vocabulary and fresh air made him a popular host, as did his tropical cocktails. One of the most brilliant legacies of trader Vic is his invention of Mai Tai, the refreshing cocktail he created in 1944 and introduced into the Hawaiian Islands in the 1950 decade. It is still the tropical cocktail par excellence and it alone created the tiki bar sensation.
